Flamingo Plant Care in Dubai: A Simple Guide

Flamingo Plant (Anthurium) - Plantbox product image

Flamingo Plant (Anthurium) combines glossy foliage with colourful, heart-shaped spathes surrounding a central flower spike. It suits a bright indoor position protected from harsh sun.

Indirect light

Provide bright filtered light to support flowering. Strong sun through a window can scorch foliage, while a dim corner can reduce blooms. Keep it away from direct cold AC airflow.

Water and humidity

Water when the surface of the mix feels dry, then drain completely. Avoid letting the root ball stay soggy or dry severely. Moderate to high humidity is helpful; a humidifier can support a very dry room without soaking the leaves repeatedly.

Potting and feeding

Use an airy, freely draining houseplant mix. Ensure the pot has drainage holes and does not sit in trapped water. Apply a houseplant fertiliser at its labelled rate while the plant is actively growing.

Flowers and common issues

Remove spent flower stems with clean tools and wipe dust from leaves. Brown tips can follow dry air or moisture stress; yellowing also warrants a drainage check. Inspect stems and leaf undersides for pests. Keep this ornamental plant out of reach of pets or children who may chew it.
