Money Tree Care in Dubai: A Simple Guide

Money Tree (Pachira aquatica) has palmately arranged leaflets and a tree-like habit. It is a different plant from pothos, so choose care guidance using its botanical name.

Light and stable conditions

Give it bright indirect light and avoid abrupt exposure to strong sun. Choose a position away from direct AC airflow. Leave room for the canopy rather than pressing leaves against a wall.

Watering

Water when the upper mix starts to dry and let excess water drain away. Its natural wetland origins do not mean a houseplant should stand in water: saturated containers can cause root rot. Check below the surface before repeating irrigation.

Soil and feeding

Use a loose, well-draining houseplant mix in a pot with holes. Repot only as needed for roots and stability. Feed during active growth according to a houseplant fertiliser label, reducing feeding when growth slows.

Canopy and trunk care

Remove dead leaves and shape long shoots modestly with clean tools. If trunks are braided, inspect ties and loosen any that constrict expanding stems. Review watering, light and recent moves when leaves yellow or drop rather than treating every change as a nutrient deficiency.
